- Rural Land Summit (invitation only)
In September 2008, Rural Affairs Cabinet Secretary Richard Lochhead launched a comprehensive review of land use in Scotland to map out suggested uses for rural land across the country and ensure every part of it is being put to best use, whether through agriculture, tourism, housing, industry, forestry, renewable energy or a variety of other ways.
This work has culminated in a Rural Land Use Summit which will bring together experts and interested organisations from across Scotland to hear and debate the findings and its implications. Information coming from the research and the summit will provide an evidence-base for Government, local authorities and communities to make use of in understanding the potential of their land and informing their decisions on how it is used.
