Conference Services provided by the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute, Aberdeen
Set in its own grounds to the west of the Aberdeen, The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute has excellent dedicated conference facilities and is capable of hosting many different types of events, from one-day workshops and meetings to three-day international conferences.
We have a fully equipped Seminar Room, complete with Public Address system. The following audio-visual equipment is also available: overhead and slide projector and a data projector and PC. We can also provide television and video facilities, flip charts and poster boards. Small exhibits can be set up within the Seminar Room. We have excellent technical staff on-hand to support your event.
We can provide additional breakout rooms with overhead and slide projectors and flip charts. Please provide your maximum numbers and room layout when requesting these rooms.
Parking
The Macaulay can provide secure car parking within its grounds at no charge.
Catering
The Macaulay has its own in-house catering company, Aramark, who will be happy to discuss your personal menu. They can provide buffet lunches, soup and a sandwich, two course meals or just tea and coffee.
Aberdeen
Aberdeen is a lovely coastal city with many attractions. Take your delegates on a whisky distillery or castle visit or enjoy the beautiful countryside at Royal Deeside. With excellent shopping, eating and leisure facilities, Aberdeen welcomes visitors all year round, further information can be found on the Aberdeen and Grampian Tourist Board website.
Accommodation/Travel
Aberdeen University's King's Hall of Residences can provide dedicated delegate accommodation at excellent rates, further information can be found on the University website. We can also recommend first-rate local hotel, guest-houses and superb restaurants. Aberdeen has its own international airport, on the outskirts of the city and a first-class railway and coach infrastructure in the city centre.
Hire Charge
Event hire charges will be determined on an individual basis decided by the Douglas Watt, Head of Finance and Corporate Services.
