The vegetation in the Allt a’ Mharcaidh can be described in relation to three major land form units. At lower altitude, in gently sloping topography, the dominant community is northern blanket bog with a range of associated flush communities. On the catchment walls, the vegetation is that of lichen-rich boreal heather moor; the upper plateau is colonized by alpine azalea heath and fescue-woolly fringe moss heath.
