Edinburgh International Science Festival June 2010
On Tuesday 13th April, we took our event to the Edinburgh International Science Festival. The event, held in the Informatics Building of Edinburgh University, was another sell-out. Unfortunately, James Grieve had to cancel at the last minute, as he was called away to a suspected murder north of Aberdeen. Therefore, the format of the presentations was adjusted to compensate for James' absence and to include more scientific content. This was very well received, leading to two separate comments on the feedback forms of "Best event I've been to in the Science Festival".
Other comments were:
"Humour was required to lighten a lot of the material. It was done appropriately. Super idea to link Stuart MacBride's passages to forensic cases"
"Good to see science and literature together - good for crime fiction"
"Very enjoyable 2 hours. Excellent idea to combine fact and fiction in this way. The forensic scientists are fascinating to listen to and Stuart MacB is very entertaining"
