Networking and dissemination
The MACS project recognises the importance of dissemination, networking,
education and training in turning research results and available knowledge into
action. A comprehensive web-based information resource covering all aspects of
camelid ecology, sustainable use and rural development will be established
during year one. This will support the work of the consortium, and be available
to a wider network of researchers and practitioners in this field. This network
will be maintained through the medium of the project bulletin. A strong emphasis
is placed on the development of courses within the study regions to educate
teachers and stakeholders. This will aim to teach an understanding of local
ecology, with emphasis on the value of wild camelids in terms of their
environmental, historical, sociocultural & economic importance to the region
