In the past, the Institute has contributed to the annual Techfest with presentations on issues such as those associated a proposed windfarm in Aberdeen Bay (e.g. how will it look?).

This example used the Virtual Landscape Theatre (VLT) to give participants views of the windfarm from the top of the high-rise flats at the beach, the football stadium, and of the city from the windfarm!

People were able to vote on views of the Bay with and without the windfarm.

The event has been attended by members of the public of all ages, including those with a professional interest in renewable energy, engineering and environmental management.
