In addition to a new model of the proposed windfarm offshore of Aberdeen, a new demonstration model was released at the All Energy Exhibition in May 2007. This was developed in Octaga and enables users to move features such as wind turbines and electricity pylons. Users can also inspect the capability of the land for agriculture, forestry as well as the spatial distribution of wind speeds in the area. Finally, it includes an estimation of land capability for agriculture under a scenario of climate change for 2100. The model is being used to increase awareness of land managers and the public of opportunities and constraints of the land, including the visual impact of wind turbine development.
