At the invitation of the Rural Affairs Department, the VLT was demonstrated at Victoria Quay, headquarters of the Scottish Government, on 21st and 22nd August 2007.

Issues presented included:

(i) protocols for public participation in the creation of a Local Development Plan for the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park;

(ii) the communication of climate change to public audiences and land managers;

(iii) consultation on design and management of urban greenspaces; and,

(iv) public consultations on renewable energy developments (the proposed windfarm offshore of Aberdeen)

The VLT was supported by an exhibition of background research and development for the information of attendees

A total of 220 people attended the 16 sessions, from across a wide range of the Government's responsibilities, raising topics of how the VLT might be used in primary and secondary education, consultation on new infrastructure, and the communicating of how Scotland might look under scenarios of new greenhouse gas emissions targets.
