Landscape Research Weekend, August 2006
“We showcased research outputs from projects funded by SEERAD and the European Commission on greenspaces (e.g. urban parks) and public participation in landscape change. These outputs included visualisation tools and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools. The scenarios presented focused on a model of the beach area of Aberdeen with views to a proposed windfarm in Aberdeen Bay; a change in content and layout of an urban square in Aberdeen (Golden Square), the planting of native woodlands in upland Scotland and an interactive model of a windfarm in upland Scotland.”
The event was attended by members of the local community of all ages, staff and councillors from Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Council, the Cairngorms National Park Authority, community groups, commerce and research.
