Landscape Research Week, June 2005
The theatre provided a centerpiece to the Institute’s first “Landscape Research Week”, held in the Stewart’s Hall, Huntly, 13th to 17th June. The research focused upon changes in rural landscapes in the area around Clashindarroch Forest in north-east Scotland.
The virtual reality model included a launch of the first representation of change using the theatre, in which landscapes were shown in their current state, and after growth of native woodlands, planted under the Scottish Forest Alliance ‘Darrochwids’ programme. The research was undertaken in the VisuLands project into the development of tools for aiding public participation in decisions about landscape planning and management.
