In figure 1 an overview of landuse in the infiltration area is given. Forests cover 55% of the area. Another 10% of the area is agricultural land. Figure 2 and 3 give an example of the outcome of this dynamic GIS. Figure 2 shows nitrate concentrations (mg l-1) in soil solution underneath the rooting zone at ambient conditions after two years. If all Scots pine stands are felled, nitrate concentrations in these stands increase strongly within the first two years after felling (Figure 3).
