Barry's treebrk2 model

An example of a demonstration.

Please note that only the species and soils options in CAPITALS are available in this demonstration.

Soil type:
Height: Spacing: dbh:
windspeed to overturn trees
windspeed to snap trees

- artificial data

The risk of wind speeds high enough to cause damage are calculated in another part of the Forestry Commission's model
A dummy interface can be seen by clicking here

Ultimately it should be possible to map the risk of damage to different parts of a forest.

Click here for a possible interface.

The model can also be used to assess silvicultural options.
Click here for a possible example

The effect of misclassification of soil types and tree species can result in large variations in the calculated risk for a given point. Click here for an example (which uses artificial data).
