Objectives Broad remit: the role and effects of fire and rural land use in Scotland

  1. To identify what research in Scotland is currently being undertaken on fire in relation to the management of heath and forests.
  2. To identify gaps in the current topics of the research.
  3. To identify and prioritise future issues to be addressed.
  4. To produce (if appropriate) a coherent proposal to the Scottish Office Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries Department-Flexible Fund and/or consider proposals to be submitted to EC Framework V.
