TractorRural Land Use Study

 

The Scottish Government commissioned a cross-cutting Rural Land Use Study to provide an integrated evidence-base on the potential contributions of Scotland's rural land to delivering on the Scottish Government's purpose of sustainable economic growth.  The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute led the research in 2 of the 3 projects included in the study. The results were presented at the Rural Land Use Summit in November 2009. 

 

Project 1: Changing land use in rural Scotland - drivers and decision-making, was led by Professor David Miller from the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute

Project 2: Realising the potential contributions of Scotland's rural land to delivering sustainable economic growth was led by Professor Bill Slee from the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute

Project 3: The role of the public sector in realising the benefits of Scotland's rural land was carried out by Pareto Consulting
