Deer Management

A European initiative to improve integrated management of deer and elk in northern forests

"Deer management" is a project of the Northern Periphery Programme of the European Union. It aims to improve deer management practices in the Nothern Periphery Area, based upon principles of sustainability, in order to raise the total economic output from woodlands. Develop methods of monitoring the effects of deer on biodiversity, and the damage to trees caused by deer. Develop tourism and sporting activities, in particular, the hunting of deer. Collection and exchange of information, production of reports, preparation and running of an international conference.
